There was one man besides my father who has made a significant difference in my life. He is a hero to me and he will forever be missed. President Gordon B. Hinckley is a true prophet of God. Every counsel he gave to us was true revelation. It is very hard to see him pass but how wonderful is it for him to return to his beloved wife and creator. As he passed through the veil, I am sure the heavens were proud and everyone greeted this true leader with open arms. He will be deeply missed but I will always remember this wonderful prophet as a true friend.
I remember when I was visiting my father up at LDS Hospital where he had been suffering severe heart conditions. My family was very stressed and scared for the outcome of my father's life. One day as we sat in the waiting room as my father rested, we noticed a security officer walking through the door and our beloved prophet following behind him. I started crying because I was literally feet away from President Hinckley. He swung his cane and greeted us, "Hello beautiful ladies! How are we all today?" We were nearly speechless as he shook our hands and moved on to visit a sick member of the 12 apostles. I felt so comforted as he walked into the building. To this day I wish I would've asked him to give my father a blessing, however it was great comfort to have met the prophet of the Lord.
President Hinckley stands as a true prophet to me because of his strong testimony of this gospel and for his love for others. He showed unconditional love to all. I will forever keep in my heart his counsels and as a youth I will remember the six b's he gave to all; Be grateful, Be smart, Be clean, Be true, Be Humble, and Be prayerful. Those simple tasks sum up our life on earth. I will strive to be a better person each day I live on earth. I will take the teachings and love that President Hinckley gave me. I cannot wait for the day to return to him and my Heavenly Father in heaven. These days of trials will pay off when I hug them both. President Hinckley I will miss you and I trully love you!!

I love this post! I can't believe how lucky to meet President Hinckley...A memory I'm sure you'll never ever forget. I love him too.
OK, I'm not going to be reading your blog, if you are going to make me cry like this. Your love and tenderness affects us all. I could not be more proud of my three daughters. It seems that we are continually being blessed with wonderful additions to our family. Thank you Ashlyn, we love you more than you will ever know!!!! Looking forward to our China adventure, DAD
