"Challenges are what makes life interesting. Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful."
Yesterday we got a phone call from our mortgage company that wasn't what we expected. On Monday our new home was appraised and our loan officer contacted us when he heard the details from the appraiser Tuesday. Our great new home turned out to be a not so great home. The loan officer's exact words were, "The structure of the home was very poorly built." So we asked more questions and come to find out they were very cheap and built the home in a hurry and they said it definately is not worth the price we were paying. I was devasted. I asked myself how could something that felt so right be so wrong? I spent yesterday in tears all day just trying to understand it all. I loved the home and we went just Monday to measure for blinds and pick out the paint colors. After spending much of my afternoon talking with Jon and just thinking about what to do, we have decided to go back out and start house shopping AGAIN! So, we aren't buying that home but we will still find something. I know this all is happening for a reason and we are going to end up getting something so much better. It is just hard to get your hopes up and then taken right from under you.

Oh Ashlyn & Jon I'm so sorry, all that work that you guys did too. I know you guys will find something just that much better though! Good luck you guys.
I am so sorry! I just know you will find something amazing! Wait and see! Sorry again.
That really stinks. I hate it when you get your heart set on something and it doesn't work out. At least you found out the bad stuff BEFORE you moved in and were out a lot of money. That is a huge blessing. You are very lucky you had an honest appraiser (although, I know that doesn't make it any easier for the time being).
That stinks! I guess it's better to know before you get stuck in it. . .but it doesn't make it easier. Good luck on the next one!
i would be in tears too, i'm so so sorry!
p.s.i'm glad i finally found your blog... yay!
How sad! But, like people before me have said, it's better to know now... I love your blog, it's fun to check it out. Guess we'll be seeing you Saturday at the baptism?? Good luck with the house shopping, I'm sure it will all work out in the end and you will be super happy!
That is heartbreaking. I'm so sorry. I guess that means we get to have you around a little longer though!
That's great for us.
It really is miserable to work so hard on something and then have it fall through, I'm so sorry! Eventually something so much better will come along that you really will be grateful that you didn't lose a ton of money on this place. Best of luck!
